About

Hi. I'm Jen and this is my blog. Actually, this is "our" blog, but I do most of the posting and maintenance. Micah is the hubs and I can convince him to post occasionally. When he does, everyone loves it, because he is a hilarious writer.

We got married last summer, on July 11th, 2010, in Washington state where we both grew up. Yes, it was 7/11 and, yes, we had a slurpee machine at our wedding. Our marriage was the culmination of ten years of friendship and quite a few years of dating, and although it took quite a long time to get to the altar, we know that God's timing was perfect in every way.

On our wedding day
Mariner's Game Circa 2006
Homecoming and Prom our senior year... holler!

Now we are off on our first adventure as newlyweds. Two days after returning home from our amazing honeymoon in Hawaii, we loaded up a huge Budget truck and moved to Phoenix with almost no planning. The only thing we knew is that we had jobs. Micah had a start date at a new position within Wells Fargo, and I had a scholarship and teaching associate position at Arizona State. The rest of it was a mystery to us. We didn't even know where we were going to live. Of course, God provided everything we needed in exactly the right timing. The perfect housing in a great location. A new church. And now, new friends in this community we are growing to love. And did we mention He also provides the sunshine here? Like every single day? Coming from Seattle, we still can't get over the weather. We'll take 110 degrees over rain for ten months anytime.

And we're off... after packing ALL night long.

The day we found an apartment. Sweet home Arizona.

So now we call Scottsdale, Arizona home. We are learning and growing and being challenged here in our work, our faith and our marriage. Life is good. This blog was born to document our adventures as newlyweds and to share our new life with friends and family in different states. We try not to take life too seriously. We have a good God and we trust Him in the happy times, the hilarious mishaps, the heartbreaking trials. We hope this blog encourages you and brightens your day. Please feel free to leave us comments and requests. Or you can e-mail us at .

How do you like Arizona? I was looking through your blog and saw that you moved to Scottsdale. We may be moving to that area soon and since I've never been off the east coast, I have no idea what to expect! Cute pics :)

If you need more mommy bloggers to interview, I'm game. Just give me a definite time limit to get stuff back to you in, because I am crazy busy (as we all are!). I just finished my Master's in Education, and I know how important it is to find people to help you out in research (I did research on homeschooling).

You guys are adorable! It's awesome how much trust you guys have in the Lord. Funny how you feel like you can be more spontaneous when you have such strong Faith that our God is good :)
