Jordan: A Summer of More

Meet Jordan - my blog friend turned face-to-face friend when we discovered that we are neighbors! I love Jordan's heart and the way she writes. Read about her summer plans (they are very similar to mine, I might add... minus the walking the dog part, since the Russums don't do pets) and then go check out her blog. You will fall in love with it. I promise.
* * * * *

I miss the days when summer meant a break, vacation, and time off. However, summers do tend to be a bit calmer. There aren't as many people on the roads. Phone calls and emails slow down at work. The hot weather forces us to stay inside or get in a pool.

I tend to dismiss summer as just another few months of the year. Unfortunately, by the time the fall months hit, I regret rushing through the summer months without making much of them at all. This summer, I want to do more.

I want to read
more books. Once I finish the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy (obsessed!), I'm on to the ones below. I buy books much faster than I can read them, but at the same time, I don't make the time to read them. This habit will change.

I want to spend more time on the beach. We live just a short drive away from the California beaches and I want to take advantage of it while we can. I've told Chris this is a must this summer.

I want to organize our house even more so than it already is. There are boxes of stuff full of stuff we don't need. There are closets crammed with stuff we can easily give away. There is an office with two desks cluttered with stuff we rarely use or even look at. Mission: Organize.

Of course I also want to walk Mia around the park more, ride our bikes around town more, spend more quality time with my husband, be more active, and make the most of our nights and weekends. I want more out of our summer, out of the next few months.

I'm ready for more.

What do you want more of this summer?
